2021 Global Carbon Budget Study to Reveal the first Post-Covid Carbon Emission levels
Whilst world leaders meet at COP26, the Global Carbon Project will reveal the latest trends in global carbon emissions and the ramifications for reaching our global climate goals
The University of Exeter, University of East Anglia (UEA) and host of other research institutions will release report which offers data and analysis on major emitters including China, USA, EU27, India and the rest of the world
The report – the 16th annual Global Carbon Budget – will also offer vital new information on rates of deforestation, and the continued high global use of coal, oil, and gas to fuel our economies.
Leading academics will reveal the latest global carbon emissions figures at COP26 as the world begins to recover from the covid-19 pandemic. In a report that will reveal the first post lockdown carbon emission figures, key individuals from science and academia will share their reaction to the study.
The media release and report will be available under embargo on 2 November 2021 and presented to journalists at an embargoed Science Media Centre press conference on November 3rd at 10:30am GMT.
