2022 Winter Olympics Day 4 Morning

Curling Comments from Team GB's mixed doubles curling pair Bruce Mouat and Jennifer Dodds as they finished fourth after losing the bronze medal match 9-3 to Sweden. Mouat will skip the men's rink and Dodds is part of Team Muirhead in the women's competition with both getting their Olympics underway on Thursday. Bruce Mouat Age: 27 Hometown: Stirling Result: 4th On the emotions after missing out on bronze "It's pretty raw. We're obviously very gutted. We've put in a lot of effort in the last two months to get to this point. "Yesterday's game (against Norway in the semi-final) was one of our best in the week and it felt like we should have turned that one into a win. "We're gutted to leave this tournament without a medal because we felt we were in the form to win one." On the men's tournament where he will skip Team GB when play starts on Thursday "I've been in the men's team for five years now. We have trained unbelievably hard for this moment. "We are so fortunate to have so much funding from the National Lottery and everyone that plays it back home and supports our dreams, we can't thank them enough. "It's so nice to have the backing of the public and they get involved with curling for this three weeks. "I don't want to let my team down by feeling sorry for myself that one event hasn't gone right for us. "Both of us are going to turn it round and we're both going to play amazing next week. "We can't thank everyone enough for the support they've given us this week but we are really very sorry we haven't been able to get that medal for Team GB." Jennifer Dodds Age: 30 Hometown: Edinburgh Result: 4th On the performance "The Swedes came out firing today. That shot that Almida (de Val) played in the second end was amazing in a bronze medal game and I can't think of a shot Oskar (Eriksson) missed in the whole game. "They just played great out there. We just couldn't keep up with them and that sums it up." On bouncing back from the semi-final defeat against Norway when a win would have guaranteed at least a silver medal "We did everything we wanted to park it and reset. That loss last night was going to be hard. "This morning we both felt pretty good and we knew a medal was still up for grabs. "We wouldn't have changed anything we did over the last 12 hours or so. "We tried to bounce back as hard as we could but unfortunately today wasn't our day." Freestyle Skiing Comments from Team GB's Kirsty Muir after she finished fifth in the first-ever women's Big Air final on her Olympic debut. Muir, Team GB's youngest competitor at the Games, will compete in the slopestyle on Sunday. Kirsty Muir Age: 17 Hometown: Aberdeen Result: 5th On her performance "It was an amazing competition and the level was just insane. It feels amazing to be competing against these girls because their level is so high. "I'm super happy with how I skied. To beat someone like Sarah Hoefflin (the 2018 slopestyle Olympic champion) who is an amazing person is super cool. "This was different from anything else, I was just so excited and everything went well. I've got so much time to come again, train and get better." On landing her dub 12 trick which left her in bronze medal position after the first run "I'm here to go for it and I'm really proud of myself for doing that. I've landed that trick before but I tried it with a different grab and I've only ever done that once before in competition, it's the best I've ever done it." On the crowd "The energy of the crowd and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. "It gives me confidence for the slopestlye, I can't wait to get there and try out the course." On making her Olympic debut "It's a dream come true just to come to the Olympics, I'm super happy. "I've got a bit of studying to catch up for sure, I'm focused on my next event and then it's back to school."
