A Royal Occasion! Superb start for European Running Championships

The inaugural European Running Championships came to a thrilling conclusion in Brussels-Leuven on Sunday (13) with thousands of spectators lining the marathon and 10km courses.

Philippe, King of Belgians, got Sunday's marathons underway as the official starter in Brussels on a weekend that saw 28,000 mass participants running with some of Europe's finest distance runners, including Nadia Battocletti of Italy, who secured her fourth European title in the women's 10km.
