ASCOT AND HOWDEN ANNOUNCE VIRTUAL PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION CELEBRATING QUEEN ELIZABETH II

ASCOT AND HOWDEN ANNOUNCE VIRTUAL PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION CELEBRATING QUEEN ELIZABETH II’S CLOSE ASSOCIATION WITH THE ROYAL MEETING

Today marks the first anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, whose love of racing has been commemorated all summer at Ascot through a Getty-curated exhibition presented by Howden and is now available to view online.

The virtual exhibition showcases pictures capturing Queen Elizabeth II during the triumphant Gold Cup win with 'Estimate'. This holds special importance as Estimate's victory in 2013 marked the first instance of a reigning monarch securing the Gold Cup—a remarkable feat. Notably, this year commemorates the 10-year milestone of this historic achievement.

Originally displayed for racegoers throughout this summer’s Royal Ascot (held from Tuesday, June 20th to Saturday, June 24th), this captivating exhibition will be open for one final viewing at the September Race Meeting (Friday 8th and Saturday 9th) at Ascot.

The virtual exhibition will be available from September 8th to December 8th, 2023. This provides a chance for those who couldn't view the Ascot Racecourse exhibition to explore a unique collection of images, including some that were unveiled to the public for the first time during Royal Ascot 2023.
