Ofelia Balogun’s practice focuses on the intersection between the vocabulary

originating from the African Diaspora in the Caribbean to the world, its

connection with dance theatre, and contemporary techniques. The practice

called DYR Movement (Dance Your Roots) aims through dance to underline

the value of connecting our stories to history as an action for the common

Humanity. Among the latest projects: Mirrors (2018, Italy, Culture, Africa);

The Willow Tree (2019, Serendipity, UK); I-M-MIGRANT (2019, IRIE! Dance

Theatre, UK); Writing with Your Feet (2021, Italy), Tidal (2022, Articulture

Wales.) She is currently working alongside women refugees’ organisations,

communities, and institutions for higher education.
