Going update after racing
Day two of Royal Ascot took place on ground described as Good to Firm after four millimetres of irrigation on Tuesday night. Ascot’s Clerk of the Course Chris Stickels said this evening: “We have had a drying day, but the forecast is for storms overnight tonight. “We are not really sure how much we are going to get, with varying forecasts, but we are expecting somewhere between five and 12 millimetres of rain, although some forecasts indicate a lot more could be possible if we have torrential downpours. We will see what happens! “It does look as though the thunderstorms should have passed by the afternoon tomorrow.”
