In the ongoing “Greatest of All Time” debate, prize money is another key measure alongside titles—especially when comparing Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

Federer retired in 2022, finishing his career with 103 singles titles and 20 Grand Slams. According to the ATP, he earned $130.6 million in prize money, including earnings from singles, doubles, and all ATP tournament participation.

Djokovic, still active, has claimed 99 singles titles and a record 24 Grand Slam trophies. His career prize money has soared to $186.9 million, including $1.35 million already earned in the 2025 season, despite not yet winning a title.

It’s worth noting that prize money in tennis has steadily increased over the years. When Federer won his first title in 2001, the financial rewards were far lower than they are today. Federer and Nadal both played key roles in pushing for prize money growth through their involvement in the ATP Player Council.

Rafael Nadal, though having the fewest ATP titles among the three (92), has won 22 Grand Slams and earned $134.9 million in prize money—more than Federer, but still trailing Djokovic.

When endorsements are factored in, Federer leads by a wide margin. With major deals including Uniqlo, Rolex, and On, his total off-court earnings exceed $1.1 billion. Djokovic and Nadal follow with $970 million and $850 million, respectively.
