ITF and IPC publish Paris 2024 Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis Event Qualification System

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) have today published the details of the Qualification System for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis Event. The event will be held at Roland Garros on 30 August – 7 September.

A total of 96 athletes will compete in Paris across the three divisions – Men, Women and Quad – with singles and doubles events held in each division. The winners of the men’s and women’s wheelchair tennis singles events at the four Regional Games (Asian Para Games, Parapan American Games, European Para Championships and African Para Games) will automatically qualify for the Paris 2024 Paralympics. This is the first time that regional Para Games will have been held in Africa and Europe. The four events are all scheduled to take place in 2023. The Wheelchair World Rankings of 15 July 2024 will be used to determine direct entries in the singles events, while there are also Bipartite Commission Invitation Places chosen by the ITF and International Paralympic Committee. All players must be in good standing with their national association and the ITF, have been appropriately classified, and have played the required number of World Team Cup events (the Wheelchair Tennis equivalent of Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup).
