Matteo Berrettini is playing like he's never been away. Tell us if you've heard this before...

If you recall, that was our lead to last week's issue, but it certainly applies again this week. The Italian made it 20 wins in 21 matches on grass by defending his title on Sunday at the Cinch Championships in London. The 2021 Wimbledon finalist only returned to Tour two weeks ago after three months out with a hand injury, but back-to-back titles in Stuttgart and London suggest the Italian is in good shape for another run at the upcoming grass-court Grand Slam.

"That's the goal, I know it's not going to be easy," said Berrettini after defeating Filip Krajinovic at The Queen's Club for his seventh ATP Tour title. "I know it's not going to be something that, just because I want it, it's going to happen. But I'm the kind of guy that is pushing through the limits every time."

Déjà Vu, Part 2: Also for a second straight week, Daniil Medvedev came short of clinching a grass-court title with a straight-sets defeat in the final. This time, he fell victim to Hubert Hurkacz, who came close to a flawless performance to race past the World No. 1 at the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle.

"I started really well and gained a lot of momentum,” said Hurkacz. "You just try to focus and stay in the present moment. I was just trying to build on my game. It was an amazing start for me, and from then on it went well."

Hurkacz next turns his attentions to Wimbledon, where he reached the semi-finals in 2021 with wins against Medvedev and Roger Federer, only to be stopped by Berrettini.
