[International Sports News] Pakistan’s Noor Zaman claimed the U23 World Squash Championship title in Karachi and returned to a hero’s welcome in his hometown of Peshawar. Friends, Pakistan Air Force officials, and supporters from all walks of life greeted him with flowers and warm celebrations.

A member of a legendary squash family, Noor is the grandson of former world champion Qamar Zaman and was trained from a young age by both his grandfather and father. Though not widely expected to win, Noor staged an impressive comeback in the final to defeat Egypt’s Aboulkheir, securing Pakistan’s first global squash title in many years.

This marks the Zaman family’s second consecutive international squash triumph, following Hamza Khan’s World Junior Championship win last year. Former world champion Jansher Khan and Squash Federation Secretary Amir Nawaz attended the reception. Noor stated that he will continue working hard to excel at the upcoming World Senior Championship.
