ParalympicsGB Appoints New Chair Dan Brooke

ParalympicsGB has appointed Dan Brooke as its new Chair, succeeding Professor Nick Webborn, who has completed his term.

Dan previously served as Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer at Channel 4, where he led the broadcaster’s collaboration with the Paralympic Games, most notably during London 2012. He also held senior roles at Discovery Channels, as well as Film4 and E4.

He has long been involved in the Paralympic movement, having served on ParalympicsGB’s Social Impact Committee and the International Paralympic Committee’s Global Brand Advisory Group.

Dan said his passion for Paralympic sport was ignited in 2012 and grew into a lifelong mission for disability inclusion. He looks forward to leading the British team into Milano Cortina 2026 and Los Angeles 2028, while driving broader societal change.

Webborn expressed gratitude for the team’s support over the past eight years and reflected on key achievements, including sporting success, a strong social impact strategy, and the development of a new athlete community.

Dan is also a Fellow of the Royal Television Society, was the UK Government’s Media Sector Champion for Disability Employment, and currently chairs the British Independent Film Awards, a role he will step down from later this year.

Former IPC President Sir Philip Craven praised Dan’s energy and leadership, calling him an ideal successor to continue advancing the Paralympic movement.
