Paris 2024: Day 10 Preview

It is the penultimate day of action on Saturday as ParalympicsGB athletes take centre stage in Paris’ iconic venues. All times are in CET.


Wheelchair basketball


The men’s wheelchair basketball team will contest the gold medal match on Saturday night at 21:30 as they take on the USA.


This will be ParalympicsGB’s first final in this event since Atlanta 1996 as they take on the defending champions.


The women’s team will also be in action as they compete for the fifth and sixth position against Germany at 19:15.


Para cycling (road)


In the final day of cycling action for ParalympicsGB, six riders take to the road across the men’s and women’s C1-3 road races.


Matthew Robertson, Fin Graham, Jaco van Gass and Benjamin Watson will all take to the Clichy-sus-Bois circuit for the Men’s race. They start at 09:30.


Watson will be aiming to defend his Tokyo 2020 title and will face tough competition from his compatriots, including Graham, who earned silver last time out.


Following shortly after, already Paris 2024 medallists Daphne Schrager and Fran Brown will ride in the women’s race.


Para swimming


Stephen Clegg could be the last ParalympicsGB swimmer in the pool as looks to extend his medal haul in his favoured event, the men’s S12 100m butterfly. Qualification is at 10:51, with the final at 19:27.


Closing out their memorable Games, Alice Tai and Brock Whiston will swim in the women’s S8 100m butterfly. Qualification is at 10:16, with the final at 18:07.


Faye Rogers, who won 100m butterfly gold earlier this week, competes in the women’s SM10 200m individual medley at 09:45, with the final at 17:38. She is a world bronze medallist in this event.


The youngest member of the ParalympicsGB team, Iona Winnifrith, will round-off her first Games with the Women’s S7 50m butterfly. Qualification is at 10:31and the final is at 18:36.


Para athletics


Hannah Cockroft is back on the track in the women’s T34 800m final at 20:22. She will be joined by Tokyo silver medallist Kare Adenegan and 2021 European champion Fabienne Andre.


Double Paralympic shot put champion Aled Davies is competing in the men’s F63 classification at 20:25 as he attempts to defend his title from Rio and Tokyo.


In his second event at Paris 2024, Zak Skinner will be hoping to improve on his Tokyo fourth place in the men’s T13 long jump at 10:00.


Didi Okoh will make her Paralympic debut in the women’s T63 100m, with qualification at 11:20, with the final at 21:36.


Isaac Towers will race in the men’s T34 800m at 10:12 after he qualified in fifth this morning.


Following qualification this evening at 21:25, Ali Smith will hope to feature in the women’s T38 400m final at 20:32 tomorrow evening.


Para canoe


After heats this morning, there will be medals on offer at Vaires-sur-Marne tomorrow.


Hope Gordon and Charlotte Henshaw both paddled straight into the first women’s VL3 A final at the Paralympics and will take to the water at 12:36.


Tokyo gold medallist Emma Wiggs will defend her VL2 title at 11:52 as she raced straight into the A final. Hoping to join her is Tokyo bronze medallist Jeanette Chippington, who must first compete in the semi-final at 10:28.


Rob Oliver will race in the men’s KL3 semi-final at 10:42 with his eyes on the A final at 12:10 as he bids to upgrade the bronze he won in Tokyo.


Five-time Paralympian Dave Phillipson will be the first for ParalympicsGB on the water at 10:14 in the men’s KL2 semi-final. The A final is at 11:36.


Wheelchair tennis


Alfie Hewett will compete in his second Paralympic final at Paris 2024 tomorrow when he plays Japan’s Tokito Oda on Court Philippe-Chatrier.


Having triumphed in the men’s doubles alongside Gordon Reid to win ParalympicsGB’s 40th gold in Paris, Hewett is now bidding to complete a ‘golden slam’ in the singles competition.


Para judo


ParalympicsGB’s para judo campaign will get underway on Saturday with Evan Molloy, Chris Skelley and Daniel Powell all in action.


Tokyo 2020 champion Skelley headlines proceedings at the Champ-de-Mars Arena as he takes on home favourite Nacer Zorgani in the +90kg J2 class.


Skelley won gold in the -100kg three years ago but must take on bigger opponents in his bid to win a second Paralympic title after a change to the weight categories for Paris 2024.


Molloy will make his Paralympic debut in Paris after narrowly missing out on selection for Tokyo 2020.


The Devizes judoka takes on Brazil’s Marcelo Adriano de Azeveda Casanova in the -90kg J2 class.


Liverpool’s Daniel Powell will compete at his third Paralympics after seventh-place finishes at both London and Tokyo.


Wheelchair fencing


The men’s foil team return to the Grand Palais for the team Épée competition. Piers Gilliver and Dimitri Coutya enter the competition as individual medallists after their finals this evening.


Oliver Lam-Watson completes the trio who will hope to improve on their bronze medal in Tokyo. They will enter in the quarter-final where they will fight France at 12:40.


Para equestrian


It’s the final day of competition at Château de Versailles tomorrow and all four ParalympicsGB riders have qualified for the freestyle competition.


Bronze medallist, Sophie Wells on LJT Egebjerggards Samoa will start the day for ParalympicsGB at 11:42 in the grade V competition, before Mari Durward-Akhurst enters the arena on Athene Lindebjerg in the grade I event at 12:57.


Paris 2024 bronze medallists Georgia Wilson and Sakura, and Natasha Baker and Dawn Chorus, then compete at 14:42 and 16:09 respectively. Wilson will ride in the grade II competition, and Baker rides at 16:09 in the grade III competition to a mashup of Cher and Shania Twain.


Para powerlifting


Louise Sugden will be competing at La Chapelle Arena tomorrow in the -79kg weight category. In her fourth Paralympics, the bronze medallist in the -86kg competition in Tokyo will take to the floor at 17:00.
