Riyadh Season World Masters of Snooker

Snooker’s biggest stars are heading for Saudi Arabia for the Riyadh Season World Masters of Snooker, and fans across the region will be able to watch the action live on a range of broadcasters across the Middle East and North Africa.

The broadcasters in the region are:

MBC Egypt (March 4-5-6)

Saudi Sport (March 4-5)

Shahid (March 4-5)

The top eight players in the world are heading for Riyadh for the tournament which will run from March 4th to 6th in Boulevard City. Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, Mark Allen, Shaun Murphy, Mark Selby, Ali Carter, Mark Williams and World Champion Luca Brecel will be in the line-up.

Every match will be played with a new golden ball, known as the Riyadh Season ball, giving players the chance to make a unique break of 167.

Fans throughout the region can watch every match live, with Arabic commentary from Abdul Hadi Al-Abdullah and Nayef Aljawini.

As well as the top eight players from the world rankings, two local stars have been given wild card places in the line-up. Saudi Arabia’s Omar Alajlani and Qatar’s Ali Alobaidli will compete alongside the sport’s all-time greats. They will face the players ranked seventh and eighth in the opening round on the evening of Monday March 4th.

Saudi Arabia’s Omar Alajlani said: “It is a great honour for me to be given a place in this tournament and I wish to thank everyone staging this event for this opportunity. To play against one of the world’s best players in my own country will be a dream come true. It will be a tough match but I will be practising hard to be ready. I’m sure I will get plenty of support from the Saudi snooker fans.”

Qatar’s Ali Alobaidli said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to compete on the same stage as my snooker heroes, it will be a great moment for the sport of snooker and it’s an honour for me to be a part of the event and to represent Qatar. My gratitude goes to everyone who has given me this chance and I will do my best.”
