Sinner Steps Up

Competition for the three remaining singles spots at the Nitto ATP Finals was already tight, and it's heated up even further with Jannik Sinner's triumph at the European Open.

The Italian climbs to 10th in the FedEx ATP Race to Turin, moving him to within 110 points of ninth-placed Hubert Hurkacz in the final qualifying position.

Sinner and Hurkacz will both be competing this week at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, joining fellow Turin contenders Matteo Berrettini, Casper Ruud, Cameron Norrie and Felix Auger-Aliassime in the ATP 500 field.

Meanwhile, Andrey Rublev, the latest player to qualify for the season finale, and Moscow champion Aslan Karatsev headline ATP 250 action at the St. Petersburg Open.
