The Stage Awaits | The Championships 2022

Winbledon is delighted to share with you the launch of our campaign for 2022, 'The Stage Awaits', developed to mark a special year for The All England Club, the centenary of Centre Court at our Church Road Grounds, which the Club moved to from Worple Road 100 years ago. Launching with the animated trailer, which you can watch above, 'The Stage Awaits' aims not only to celebrate the feats and triumphs Centre Court has witnessed, but envisage what the next century might bring, beginning with The Championships 2022. Alongside a number of executions, including a fan vote to decide the best Centre Court moments, the focal point for the celebrations will be Sunday 3 July, as we begin a new tradition of play on the Middle Sunday. The day’s play on Centre Court will begin at 1.30pm with a live feature presentation, looking back on epic matches and classic moments with the help of some past Wimbledon Champions, before concluding with a performance from British singer songwriter Freya Ridings. It will also be a day for the local community with tickets distributed to local residents, schools, charities and community groups.
