Week 29 Preview: Hamburg, Gstaad

This week on the ATP Tour, Hamburg and Gstaad play host to a pair of clay-court events in western Europe. Carlos Alcaraz is the top seed on tournament debut at the Hamburg European Open, where the Spaniard is chasing his fifth ATP Tour title of 2022. His rivals this week at the ATP 500 event in northern Germany include second seed Andrey Rublev, four-time tour-level titlist Diego Schwartzman and defending champion Pablo Carreno Busta. At the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad, Casper Ruud is the top seed and defending champion at the ATP 250 event, where World No. 15 Matteo Berrettini will also compete in just his second clay-court tournament of 2022.
